Molded Graphite

High-Density, Fine-Grain Graphite Blocks, Rods, Plates and Custom Machined Components for Industrial Applications

Molded graphite is a high-density synthetic graphite material manufactured through a compression molding process. It is produced in blocks, rods, plates and custom shapes for applications that require fine grain structure, high purity, mechanical strength, low electrical resistivity and excellent machinability.

GraphiteCentral supplies molded graphite materials for semiconductor manufacturing, vacuum furnaces, continuous casting, EDM electrodes, sealing products, aerospace, medical, metallurgical and high-temperature industrial applications. Standard grades are available, and custom properties, dimensions, purification levels and machined parts can be produced according to customer drawings and technical requirements.

Why Choose Molded Graphite?

High Density Structure

Provides excellent dimensional stability, durability and reliable performance in demanding industrial environments.

Fine Grain Size

Supports precise machining, smooth surface finishes and complex component geometries.

High Purity Options

Standard grades are available with 500-1000 PPM ash content and can be purified to as low as 20 PPM.

Low Electrical Resistivity

Suitable for EDM electrodes, electronic components and applications requiring strong electrical performance.

Thermal Shock Resistance

Performs reliably under rapid heating and cooling cycles in high-temperature processes.

Anticorrosion Performance

Good resistance to corrosive environments, with optional SiC coating, pitch impregnation or protective treatments.

Molded Graphite Products

What Is Molded Graphite?

Molded graphite is produced by pressing prepared carbon raw materials into a mold, followed by baking and graphitization at high temperature. The compression molding process creates a graphite material with a dense structure, fine grain size and dependable physical properties.

Because of its balance of strength, machinability, purity and cost efficiency, molded graphite is commonly selected for applications where high-performance graphite is required but isostatic graphite may not be necessary.
